It's hard to believe that 40 years ago today Ralph Gleason passed away. Not only was he the co-founder of the Monterey Jazz Festival with Jimmy Lyons, he was the first #jazz critic in the U.S. Mainstream media for the San Francisco Chronicle beginning in 1949. Among other accomplishments he also co-founded#RollingStoneMagazine. He was a true #visionary.#MontereyJazz #jazzmusic #Monterey
